Opinions On Free Directories

I've heard a lot lately about directory submissions being worthless, specially now a days. Do you guys think it is still beneficial to submit a site to directories? How many directories would you recommend on a monthly basis?

I agree. Backlinks can still help promote your site. Just choose directories with high PR and that they allow a "do follow" link. And avoid link farms.

It depends on the quality of directories. Some links in directories are still useful.

Submitting to directories is very much important for the site to be promoted perfectly,, It was one of the foundations on how SEO emerged as far as I am concerned...

Not that worthless but giving less priority i guess.

You can still submit your website to different directories as long as the directories are relevant to yours and updated regularly. I can say you can limit the number of your submission (depending on how many you like)

In my opinion, whether free directories have pagerank or no pagerank, follow or no follow, they are still beneficial to any website marketers. This is bacause these directories still have some quality traffic which we can utilise smartly.

I don't think so.
You can get sales when visitors stayed in your site and purchase the items you are selling or if your visitors signed up and subscribed to your services.
