Forum posting can give traffic on your website by posting good threads to get attentions of other member and by that you need a signature to your site.

It must be dofollow like the forum here to give you some link juice, my advice if you want to use forums to build link is to write useful stuff and avoid short worthless posts.

very useful for seo people.
Sometimes you can se your last post in a forum after about 10-15 days in the search engine like yahoo(i use explorer.yahoo).

and more important:
you learn all about seo zone here from expert.

Forums are useful for discussion on specific topic and helps in getting more traffic. you can add url of your site in signature.

Forum links are great for traffic purposes and also a good way of advertisement and for getting index for a new site if a dofollow forum.

I agree with destiny19. Yes the forum divert traffic on a website. But these seo forum really helpful for a SEO Websites, Blog etc.

It does not hurt and they do show up in Yahoo and other's SERP page. I do get hits directly from the forum as well.

Links in forums attract search engine to crawl your site frequently.

your link can be crawl by the spiders....and aside from it's enjoy to post or

to join in a forum, it's also a great source of traffic
