How to calculate CTR?

Post by mikecowell »

If someone is getting 2.50% CTR then hows you think the performance is? Is this satisfactory clicks trough rate, or must be higher than 5% or 10% etc.
All pages have average quality.

CTR is calculated through a formula

CTR = (Number of clicks / Number of Impressions)

2.5% CTR is not good, 10 to 15% CTR rates are just starting as average CTR of web pages.

2.5% CTR is actually about average. If you can get it up to 5% you are doing very well

Glad I saw this. I was always under the impression that it was number of clicks / page views  . Glad that is cleared up, everything makes more sense now.

CTR is the number of clicks that your ad receives divided by the number of times your ad is shown: clicks ÷ impressions = CTR. For example, if you had 5 clicks and 1000 impressions, then your CTR would be 0.5%.
Each of your ads and keywords have their own CTRs that you can see listed in your account.
A high CTR is a good indication that users find your ads helpful and relevant. CTR also contributes to your keyword's expected CTR (a component of Quality Score), which can affect your costs and ad position. Note that a good CTR is relative to what you're advertising and on which networks.
You can use CTR to gauge which ads and keywords are successful for you and which need to be improved. The more your keywords and ads relate to each other and to your business, the more likely a user is to click on your ad after searching on your keyword phrase.

Add Google analtyics tags to their tweets or have a nice like piece of javascript that shows sources. This is a little easier since Google analytics added the social component and the nice code wrappers. :D Good luck

CTR is the quantity of snaps that your advertisement gets partitioned by the quantity of times your promotion is appeared: clicks ÷ impressions = CTR. For instance, in the event that you had 5 ticks and 1000 impressions, then your CTR would be 0.5%. Each of your promotions and watchwords have their own particular CTRs that you can see recorded in your record.

Others would argue that 2% is too low. I’m not advocating that once you hit 2% CTR, you’re in the clear.

Are you running ads on Facebook or Google Adwords? Which medium is profitable for you? For me it's not about profit only. It's about profit and tracking. If I can't track ROI accurately then there is no reason to promote ads in that medium.
