It can be a long wait to get into DMOZ but it can be really worth it in the end.

It is, though, a worry that it relies on volunteer reviewers so much. But then it would cost a fortune if not...

I am sure I have fulfill at least 4 of the 5 advice (I cannot comment about the the design), but I am still not able to list my website http://fengshui1988.com in DMOZ after more than 1 year. DMOZ is not easy.

DMOZ is a web site. Biggest waste of space right now. concern is that eveyone is dependent rise in DMOZ, but did not realize that those who do not have listed so far will be just as good out of it.

Being listed in DMOZ is like an endorsement of your website quality. From a SEO (Search Engine Optimization) point of view, a link from DMOZ brings more trust and authority than most sites. DMOZ is not as highly regarded as it used to be, but to have an inbound link from it is still considered good SEO nonetheless.

Make sure the site is the original content and quality. People nowadays are looking for more quality content and they get mad at sites where there is no other like a bunch of affiliate links or sales letters.

They are listed in DMOZ is as an acknowledgement of the quality of the site. From SEO point of view, a link to DMOZ brings more confidence and prestige that the majority of sites. DMOZ is not very popular as before, but it is the incoming links is still seen as a good SEO, however.
