I'm just starting to design a website for construction machinery. My client wants to have 2 main product pages - one for second hand machinery and one for new. However, I think it might be better to split them into other pages. For instance:
New Machinery
- Cranes page
- Front loaders page
- Forklifts page
Used Machinery
- Cranes page
- Front loaders page
The reason is that it might be easier from the point of optimising it and choosing more specific keywords. Instead of having one page that caters for 5 types of machinery, I would have one page dedicated to each?
What do you think? Would this make a significant difference in helping with rankings etc?
Site Structure and optimisation

Thanks Viradian,
Thats what I was thinking all right - it wouldn't dilute the focus so much that way.
Also there are several images for machinery in each category so having a separate page for each category would mean they will load more quickly than if I had all the machinery on one page..
