that's one way..

but i think you don't have to hire an SEO company, you can optimize your site on your own. patience and hard work is all you need. get relevant link exchanges. create articles and press release containing the link of your site. blogs can also help.

analyze your keywords and meta description.

remember that you will optimize your site not for the SE's but for your target visitors

If you want to get high PR then you shoud get good back liks from related sites and put good content.But Iits not so wasy so you can go for professional SEO company.

You can have a High PR in your own way, but applying for an SEO firm will really help you achieve PR higher than PR3.. But depends on the quality of their work.. Anyway, PR nowadays is not so really important maybe because of the delay of its update.. If i were you, focus on your SERP's ranking by your targeted keywords..

Cooluks is right.. Linking to related sites is the best way to get your site indexed. Look for a page that is already indexed by the search engine therefore, when search engines re-index the site, they will notice your link and follow it.
