Linking my own sites.

I started off a business selling panic alarms I built the site myself using ms Publisher then Frontpage, I am totally html illiterate but managed to get by using the help of the cart system, later on I added new products and was very successful.

This site had number 1, page 1 ranking for almost everything I was selling in google and most of the other search engines, then all of a sudden I stopped getting top results but had enough business to continue.

I wanted to make my site a bit more professional so bought a shopping cart system, although it is listed in google and many other engines I am not getting top results, I have read that cart systems are not the easiest to make search engine friendly.

Thats the background and now for my question.

My old website is now favourd By Google and I am getting first page listing again, the problem is I want to retire my old site the content is outdated and prices have changed and the cart is no longer being used but I am still getting good links from there.

I have decided to keep it but when I have time I will set links to go to specific pages on our new site, this will in fact be an information website and ordering can only be done through our new website.

I also have quite a few dedicated sites for product ranges too many to list.

Could you kind people tell me the bast way to link these sites for maximum exposure for search engines.

I want to tidy up www.mfll.co.uk and have it as a corporate site but I am reluctant to play with it while I am getting good search results.

I can barely understand what you are asking.

I think you want a 301 redirect from the site you are ditching, to your new site.

If you are asking how to cross link your current sites, be careful as google doesnt like sites cross linked on same server (dont link all your sites to eachother on the same network)

Kremit your last answer is what I was asking.

I don't want to lose the hits that I get from my old site, I was wondering if linking from my other site would improve my ranking chances.

I obviously need to create a link from my old site to the new but would you recommend I keep them to a minimum.
