Multiple backlinks from same webpage = one backlink from one webpage ?

Hey guys,

I see our competitors buying commercial banners on daily news websites that are posted on every article, therefor they get thousands of backlinks from the same webpage. So im wondering if its any better than getting one backlink from one article or its the same ?

You should always get backlinks from different web pages (different websites, actually). Your website will get no benefit from the same page as the referring domain, and referring pages would be the same.

If there is some traffic on that page, you can choose the same page to get multiple backlinks; otherwise, one link from one page is enough.
