Directories dangers?

Is there a danger of getting spammed by web directories? I just started a business website and need to lift it off the ground, but I'm concerned whether I'll be getting ghost visitors from the sites that have me in their directory, that will thus use up my bandwidth?

Thank you!

You shouldn't be worried about bandwidth. If you have a bandwidth problem, change to a plan where it is not an issue to have a lot of traffic. There are many out there that offer huge bandwidths.

I don't think a good quality directory like dmoz will hurt your site.

For a list of directories, check Firectory Crtic.

You're not likely to get loads of visitors, even if you submit to all of the directories.

And if bandwidth is an issue, go buy some more. Visitors = profits. Don't lose them because you haven't hosted somewhere with adequate resources.

A good old directory will never ever hurt you but if a directory is new it may or may not

There is no harm in submitting to web directories. Make sure you are submitting your site to high PR sites. :)
