Is the Directories good for website ranking?

Hi, I start my career as an SEO officer. I have some queries about directories. Because I think google spam all the directories submission backlinks so I just want to know directory is good for our site and it help my site to ranking up on google

Yes! Directory submission is important for website ranking. It is as important as social bookmarking. Social bookmarking, Forum submission, Directory submission are equally important for website ranking.

Directory submission is almost closed. If you put high DA website then it takes a lot time to approve your link. SO it is very time consuming.

Directory submission is still beneficial if you are acquiring links from High DA websites. But, the disadvantage is that it might take a pretty long time to get indexed
