If you want to get ranked high quickly, you could buy links from high page ranks sites. But that would cost a lot of money and not be guaranteed....it really takes time to get listed high unless you are not in a competitive market

So if you can get high rank links then you will rank highly yourself

Each link you have pointing to your site is considered a "vote" for your site. You get more "credit" for that vote if the site has a high page rank, is related to your site and is linked to other sites that are quality high ranked sites.

Best thing to do is find quality sites related to you, make sure that they are in Google's index, and request a link exchange with those sites. Google looks more favorably on links from sites like that.

I meant Yahoo's index...I forgot which forum I was in...If you have links from sites already in Yahoo's index, it will find you when the Yahoo crawler reindexes all the links pages with your site listed on it...

I'm having the same problem with
www.sawasdeethai.co.uk the site has been up for 2 weeks now. Getting about 100 page impressions per day now (last 2 days).
Indexed in google and msn (homepage only, not full site), and getting substantial hits from google. Okay the page looks a bit amatuer but it is for some friends whom have a little restaurant, and I'm a mug when it comes to helping others (pao and paul, if you are reading this you can buy me a cider next time i'm in birkenhead).
Why has Yahoo not picked up on it yet, Yahoo and MSN are normally the quickest for this kind of thing, not google?
The objectives have been served in google. Top page in UK data centers for "Sawasdee Thai", "Thai Resaurant Wirral (Merseyside and Birkenhead)".
I would like Yahoo to index this site, as the demographics of Yahoo users is different from Google users, Yahoo users tend to be the eat out type (I'm not making wild statements here, Yahoo does have a different user base to google, look at alexa and other stats with related sites)
the site
www.sawasdeethai.co.uk is highly optimised (looks not to nice, but highly optimised for the restaurant market). but still Yahoo has not crawed it (another site of mine has been crawled and their is no content there and this is the first reference to it in public
www.cook-thai.com ) so I'm just guessing the yahoo has just gone crazy in the last few weeks.
Conclusion... All help would be appreciated

Give it time and it will get indexed in Yahoo...the fact that you got your homepage in Google in 2 weeks is pretty impressive. It took Google over 3 months to index my homepage...

Will submit a the link to Yahoo Directory help?
I've yet to do it, but I think it will be very helpful. There is a cost to it, I think it is about US300 per year.
