It seems like the sites that I have at the top of Yahoo are almost always also at the top of MSN, but not always at the top of Google.

It's just because google has their own way to rank a site and it's different from yahoo and msn.

Exactly the sites which are ranking in yahoo are also in bing but not in google. That is why it is easy to rank in yahoo & bing but not in google.

It's because you're not optimizing your websites with what Google want. They have their different algorithm.. So try to discover on how to improve your rankings in Google. I know you can search it over the net.

I suppose MSN already launched Bing when this thread was created and Yahoo and Bing also had a collaboration too on their algorithm but I can't remember if it was already done on or later than December 2009. Most webmasters observed that Yahoo and Bing (MSN) mainly focused on contents and meta tags unlike to Google's special algorithm both on quality contents and backlinks, your site probably hit good points towards Yahoo & Bing's algo..

Simply because, your only optimizing your website in what yahoo likes. Better keep on building quality links with your targeted keyword and for sure you will see some changes.
