Different SE looks at meta tag in different way. And meta tags become less useful and important that several years ago because some webmasters abuse it. Google does not index the keyword metatags.

So far as I know Google doesn't index keyword meta tags. But "title" and "description" meta tags are still important to many major search engines.

But I am not sure if Google/MSN doesn't use meta tags at all. Anyone can help me to clearify? Thanks
