Get Listed in Yahoo Search

Since yahoo is one of the most Popular Search Engine. So it can bring a high traffic to your site. To get listed in yahoo search you have to add your URL to Yahoo search. Yahoo has both paid and free submission option you may choose any one according to your requirements. You may even add you XML feed and all URLs using a text file. Generally they take 6 week to get listed but it varies depending on your site. Initially yahoo will crawl only few pages of your site then you will find that more pages are getting listed in yahoo. If you site is in yahoo directory then you need not to do all this things. To add URL You must have a Yahoo ID.
It is not that easy with Yahoo

Can any one explain why it is not easy to get indexed by yahoo.
I had sites that were indexed by Google and MSN but not by Yahoo (not even the index page). This did not happand in 5 months. Could a subbdomain be the problem or not. Will the urllist.txt file help.
I created a new site:
http://soccer-shirts.50webs.com/ World Cup 2006 Shirts and I need it to be indexed as soon as posible.
What can I do (more).

Usually its very easy getting indexed by Yahoo and MSN, not by google. You should feel lucky that you were indexed by Google. Yahoo bases its sites of content and a host of other factors. Your site has no original content and is stuffed with keywords. This can potentially hurt you with yahoo. Your content is at the bottom of the page and is hardly readable. You need to fix this and possibly you will be indexed by yahoo. The way your site is designed is a major no no when it comes to optimization!

It is very easy to get listed in yahoo, just submit your site to:
http://search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html
I suggest yahoo directory which is one of the best directories in the world.

Good directory, but an expensive submission fee...especially if they don't accept you...

Yahoo seems dislike blog from blogger. One of my blogspots takes so long to get indexed by yahoo.

Id rather build links than to buy links just to be listed in yahoo directory..

It is easy get indexed in Yahoo and MSN but not easy to rank keywords. Although we followed the algorithmn still it is not rank well from the two search engine. Do they changing the algorithm to universal search just like Google? From on-page to off-page optimization.

i don't think so.. My blog (from blogger) was indexed in Yahoo for not more than a 2weeks in Yahoo.
BTW How long have you been waiting to get indexed?

1.In terms of structure of the website try to make the site which is easy to navigate and keep the things simple
2.Include a site map that links to all the pages in your website. Yahoo can find a site easier to crawl when they have sitemap.
3.Increase the inbound links to do well in yahoo. use keywords in the anchor text of inbound links.
4. Avoid all black hat seo techniques. Cloacking,doorway and hidden text will remove all your options of getting ranked in yahoo

Thanks for the tips nivea_david. You are right the website must easy to navigate and functional to users. Anchor text, keywords and content is much effective for yahoo. We should also limit the black hat technique such as spamming and hidden text. We must follow the yahoo guidelines and procedures as to rank well or do well in yahoo.
