Yahoo Image search result

I was wondering how yahoo indexes images from a website and actually making them searchable from their image search?
I have a 3d rendering website with lots of image on it but they don't appear on yahoo. I have no problem with google.

Same thing happened to me.. I don't get any traffic on yahoo imges while on google, they give me tons of traffic even if my images don't have any alt tags.Anyway, I am wondering why do you want to have traffic via images? do you know that images traffic doesn't give your site good conversions?

Images are important to us CG artists, it sure does help a lot. A friend got a lot of orders because of this.

The images, based on the details of them like the names plus the Alt texts, might be found through the images searching sections of Google and Yahoo as well as other search engines like MSN but they cannot help that much with the websites' overall rankings.

Am not interested in ranking at this time...(but who doesn't?
) just want my images to be on yahoo...

You can use flickr.com for putting your images on yahoo.

I already did.
I have posted 6 images to test if yahoo will index all of them but only 1 showed up.
we.., I better upload more ..

yahoo is entirely different from the Google.it uses different alogorithm

it's still the best option to rank images on google cause they do drive traffic to your site...

i think flickr is the best way to index images to google....
because, when i search images in google i alwasys see images from flickr....
