Hi All,
I am already indexed by Yahoo, but in their Web results, not Directory results. How much of a difference would it make if I got into their Directory listings? Is it worth the $299? I am on the fence on this one. Any insight would be great !!

Thanks,
Rob

I think yahoo directory is helpful when people search locally. It means your site will appear in local search too.

Approval in dmoz and yahoo will increase page rank and back links of a website. I have also submitted 4-5 websites 4 months ago using yahoo free submission but it is not approved yet. I think yahoo will approve only paid listing.

It is true that yahoo directory will not give you traffic but it will help to get better ranking in popular search engines.

Submit to the free submit for Yahoo. The $300 submit is only worth it if you have a bi business with lots of money to burn. It will not bring much traffic to your site.

There is a term called the trustrank in the search engines and having links from authority sites and online portals helps achieving this point.

Yes, Google recommends having a Yahoo directory link, you can refer to their webmasters guidelines page.
