Yahoo free submission - How long does it take

How much affects the number of links you have from your site to other sites? I understood that is better to have more incomming links than links to other sites.

For example if you have a site which is refered by other websites and then you add on your site many links to other sites the ranking will decrease?

Just make sure you are linking to sites that are relevant to your own and link to sites that already have a nice PR. Do not put a lot of crappy links on your site linking to sites that spring up over night. Find the ones that will do you some good and possibly bring you traffic!

Link building is definitely the way I reckon 1-2 weeks to get your first page in, Yahoo seems to hang off then for a while? - has anyone else had this experience? how long has it taken to get sub-pages listed on a new site?

If your new site have a quality backwards link, it will take less than a week to index your site in yahoo.

Rather than go and submit to the three engines and wait, I put my new site (with new domain) link on a PageRank 4 website. The spiders all came within a couple of days. Yahoo only has me listed once though. Google has me a few hundred times and MSN has me like 12.
So far, I believe I escaped the sandbox because I bought my domain name for 10 years. I read through the grapevine that that helps. I know I'm still sandboxed for the majpr terms, like "business cards", "printing", etc... but as I look at my stats I can see the ball rolling.

It's been a couple of months now, new site, new domain. I officially have a Google Page Rank of "1", which just took effect today. So, I am out of the the deadbeat loser category, and upgraded to "we still think you're probably a deadbeat loser, but we have no solid evidence yet". "So to be fair, we'll give you a "1".
I'm used to selling perishables (seafood) online, with less than 1% conversions. I'm now at 15% for this site!

Oh yeah, I finally found another website that has a page rank of 10, besides Google, it's statcounter.com . See for yourself (I didn't make it link because I'm not affiliated, and I'm not at all promoting it).

just be patient. Answering how long it takes is a complicated answer that depends on sooo many things, but patience is virtue
