Yahoo - What's Up ?
Why is it sometimes you can search for your domain on Yahoo and there are a dozen links, and sometimes the are ZERO, and the difference may be no more than 5 minutes, and the results are intermittent ?

You said that you're always checking your PR status, right? and you get different result every day. In my opinion, I guess why your PR is always changing is that maybe the S.E is still depending on how much traffic as well as backlinks your site gets. I think the S.E's updating there algorithm but I think it will normalize..

Yahoo provide different information
What do you mean by that, different datacenters provide different information? Does it make any sense?balla wrote:Sometimes it can display differently because of the datacenters

Datacenters
The datacenter question is at the center of the difference. I have a former associate who lives in Portland Oregon. I reside in Virginia. We checked for ranking of funny videos on Google at the same time. The top 7 sites were mixed with a couple not even on page one depending on the coast it was queried from.
Google, Yahoo and many others have datacenters spread for across many regions for redundancy and performance. It should not be suprising then that spiders are launched independent of a "central office". If such is the case, then the resulting data will vary based upon the spider in question and its launch point.
It quickly becomes an issue of statistical probability.

Well, now it make a sense. But I thought those datacenters should be sinchronized some way. Any idea?gtterry wrote:The datacenter question is at the center of the difference. Re: Datacenters
BTW, I also have another question. If Google centers are independant, are they desynchronized? If yes, is that desychronization affect only SERP. What about PR? Does it depend on results of different datacenters or it is a result of some accumulation? I think I'm not clear enough, but I am really confused about it.gtterry wrote:Google, Yahoo and many others have datacenters spread for across many regions for redundancy and performance. Why did you simply copied my posting which came before yours. Did you want to make duplicate content or what? That's not nice, that's spam!
