cache is a temporary storage area where frequently accessed data can be stored for rapid access. Suppose you found a search result on Google. You tried to access it but found the page missing or site is down. Then you can fetch the same page via Google Cache. Its nothing but the Google's version (may be a bit old) of the same page. It is pretty reliable except for those sites which changes too frequently.
