Updated site not showing in cached text on google search

I have recently updated one of my websites, which is high in a google search, however when i want to view it a cached text, it is my old site. How long does it take for it to crawl my updated site, or do I have to resubmit it somehow?

Normally it take about a week. If you register google sitemap, you can see when it crawl your site info.

Google can take a long time to update its cache...I've updated pages in my site months ago, and Google still shows some of my old pages in the cache.

My homepage is updated frequently, and its the page that changes the least...

Good news on the site, Google has picked it up, and before I had even tried sitemaps.

If it caches a new site how is it able to pick up the old cache later, considering you have taken that off the server?I'm not knowledgable on this but that doesn't seem right, you must be right about bugs Akash.
