No, they don't carry any value. However, nofollow links are essential to balance your backlink diversity on search engines.

Do-follow links help in improving the page rank & add value to a site. Whereas, no-follow links do not add value in ranking the pages; however, they do help in generating the referral traffic and maintain the balance of presence of do & no follow links.

as far as I know, Nofollow Backlinks don't really affect website rankings

No follow links are actually don't carry any link juice, but they are still valuable for your site for link balance.

theoretically no but technical yes. no-follow links are meant for traffics on the other side do-follow for link juice but for naturally looking webmaster you have to keep balance for both types.

There are people who think that you just have to use follow links but as some people say, you have to have a balance between follow and nofollow. There are also opinions about this; if 80% / 20%, 60% / 40%, etc.

While nofollow links alone won't boost your domain authority, they are still incredibly important. To rank a website, you need to have a natural proportion of dofollow and nofollow links (preferably 50-50). Google quickly picks up on unnatural link building strategies that focus too much on dofollow links and they can even reduce your rank (or better said, reduce the quality of your links) if you only have dofollow links. All high authority websites naturally acquire both types of links and you need to mimic their link structure if you want to rise through the ranks on Google.

To anyone who says that nofollow links have no value, answer this question. If you were offered a nofollow link from a site like the New York Times or Wikipedia, would you accept it? If you think nofollow links have no value, then there's no point in getting such a link from these sites, right?

but if nofollow then it doesn't make sense to pay for this link if the site you offered it is not famous in my opinion

Strongly agree's with you. road marking Do follow n no follow should have equal proportion to see the SEO magic.
