word count to index pages too many words a good idea?

Post by wilburforce »

What is the most important word density or associated words?

I have written an index page using every conceivable connotation of keywords I can think of, but the page is bloated with text.
But I think Google only read so many words and miss the rest, is this accurate?

from what I understand, Google may not crawl deep into your page everytime...sometimes, googlebot will visit, and crawl a portion of the page, next time it will crawl a little deeper and do that each time.

In my experience, which isn't that much, Google is hard to figure out. But, patience is needed when waiting for Google to index.

If you have 5000 links to your index site, it will be crawled deeper than if you have 5 links.

Its dynamic depth

On-page optimisation is becoming less and less important. You should write your content in order to offer the best user experience. The key aspect to rank in Google is the authority of your domain.

And Links...they seem to be important still...though, I heard that some search engines are placing less importance on them...

I think it varies from Search engine to search engine. Google doesn't have any guidelines for it. But it's recommended to have 2%.
