Whta is the purpose of the thread. If you want to open discussion on any domain extensions, this is nice, but let's say what anyone should do if they want to register domain that represents a certain phrase, but all addresses in general TLD's are already in use. Then I think that .co, .biz, .to, .nu and few other TLD's would work good, as well as the national top-level names.

I think you should choose a domain name that is easy to remember. It is also good if your domain name contains your target keywords.

Domain Names Determines which category the website belong.
Choose a domain with appropriate services what u do.

Example

Yourcompany+service
or
service+company name

Dont try company name alone or Service name alone It is waste.

If u could spend more in advertisment in Media like newspapers,TV ads then you can choose company alone.
But to remember easily you should companyname+service or service+company name
