On my website links to articles are currently accessed by just the id in the database for example
www.digitalpunks.co.uk/fullnews/16.php but as the domain of the website helps search results I would like to know if changing it for example to /fullnews/title-of-article.php would be more beneficial to me?
Thanks in advance,
Craig.

As long as your website has static urls, it is good for search engine results. Yes, by changing your urls as shown in your post, you will able to get better results.
