Getting Header tags right...

I am in the process of putting header tags all over my website but have come across a graphics problem...
I use Dreamweaver and when I format a title with a header tag it looks fine within the program... but when i publish it my header graphics come up much wider when viewed in a browser than I want...
If you look at http://www.enablinguk.com/planning-cons ... ssion.html you will see header tags with both a purple and light yellow background... it is these colored backgrounds that widen to about double the size when I header tag them....the font size stays fine... but I cant see this in Dreamweaver... Its very frustrating...
Can anyone help me with a little advice on this??
