Before even beginning to work on a website, you should have a clear idea of the keyword(s) you are going to optimize your website for.
Keywords are the very terms people use in search engines when they are searching for something, products, etc.

The best way to optimize for your keywords is first know what they are then try to get inbound links to your website.
so it would be like this...
Code: Select all
<a href="http://www.yourwebsite.com">Keyword</a>
You do want to limit also who you link to, avoid casin0s, adult sites (unless you are one of these) But get links from similar sites. Usually you can stray away from what marketing category your in if someone has Las Vegas Night Clubs and your Las Vegas Apartments for example. Google at least tends to recognize both sites are optimized for "Las Vegas"
There are a bunch of factors, including link popularity, dont use duplicate text and a few others things. If you are just starting i would recommend you not to index hundreds of pages, start out under 40-50 then once you get enough inbound links you can gradually start adding more content.
Hopefully i got everything good.
thanks

Keywords are very important. The keywords should be related to your business or services that you provide. You should use your most important keywords in your title tag.

yoauto wrote:Your question is very good but it needs research on your side.Remember ,the most important thing is using single words as keywords is not a good idea unless your website is in a niche market.I would rather use what i call key-phrases .
However ,you need very good reseach or to contract a SEO that you can work with .This will give you experience
I hope this helps
SEO is dynamic ,you have to learn everyday
Yes yoauto you are right, single word keywords have more competition. So one should use both single word keywords and key-phrases keywords.

Use your most important keywords is title tag and do directory submission using that titles.Use your keywords as alt tag also.
