We used Magento as a model for a commercial site for a store in India, and it works great. I agree that it simplifies 90% of the work; but the remaining 10% of the work requires a lot of time and effort to get it right. The platform is great for a large store with an extensive catalog. The managers at https://belvg.com/magento-support provide quality and professional help. It is not the best option for smaller companies. However, we were able to tweak it a bit and give our salespeople the ability to view and process all of their orders.
