There are various reasons why it can drop. Here are but a few: Did you change content? Did you delete pages that may have been linked to (i.e. create a 404 situation)? Did people with whom you have a link exchange drop their links to you? Did you rename pages without the proper redirect in place (301)? Has the algorithm at the search engine in question been changed? Did a butterfly flap its wings in the Amazon?

(Okay, that last one is improbable but you get the picture.)

It may resolve itself in the next month or so. However, it wouldn't hurt to do some research to see what might have changed.

p.s. PR of 6 is still pretty good.

Our website had a page rank of 7 till last month, this month it got reduced to a page rank of 6.

Will any one help me out why our page rank dropped. And is there any process to get the page rank back which was there earlier.

Thanks,
Veronica
Have you checked it in livepr.raketforskning.com? It reveals the PRs on different Google datacenters.

There might be some problem with your links. Check the links if they are still active and if your site is linked to them. Check the status of the site that you have links.
