Please Explain SEO

Can someone please explain SEO I know you can sign up to companies that SEO your site but what do they actually do?

By selecting a good SEO can this increase your page rank or how high your listing will be displayed?

If you want to learn SEO, you should post in SEO forums, and read a lot of SEO threads.

Also, read articles and news about SEO. It is very up top date process to keep track of.

SEO is a search engine optimization, that is the optimization of a page with thse selected keyword.

Seo is a science or an art to improve page rank of a site as well as to to give good SERP result.There are many steps involve in seo process.
1.Study your site.
2.Research keywords and make list of keywords releted to your site or product.
3.Write a good discription about your product and services.
4.Use your most important keyword in title tag.
5.Optimize meta tag.
6.Search engine submission.
7.Directory submission.

SEO is similar to site maintenance and monitoring. You have to keep track on the site's condition and activities to know if it works well. If not, modification occurs. This process is continuous until one reaches good result (SERPs top ranking). As i've said it is continuous so regular monitoring and maintenance are still needed.
