As you know if you have more backlinks, chances of getting good ranking in google increased. But many SEOs just count irrelevant links as a backlinks. They dont care whether the backlinks coming from are relevant with their site or not. Google dont consider such links.

What about links at this forum? I have my shopping site (see it in my signature), which has nothing to do with the subjects discussed on this forum. This forum is not about discount couopons, promotional code etc. Should this forum be considered by Google as irrelevant to my site as far as links are concern, according to what you say?

The forum links will get count but still try find out forum where you have your niche customers available this can save you from penalize by Google if any!

Well, I though you can be penalized only if you use bad technics. Getting the links with good, friendly and reliable sites should not be penalized.

Talking about the forum where I have my niche customers. Yes, there are some forums where people discuss their shoppings. But if you try to post your information there as a seller, you will be considered as spammer, and your posting will be deleted. I did it a few times simply because I still can't find the forum where the sellers can disscuss their issus. If you could help me to find it, that will be very appreciated. Thank you in advance.
